About the practice
-
Who are Scott and Kacie Hinojosa?
Scott and Kacie Hinojosa run Lost in the Astral. Oregon home base, online by design. Scott (known to the work as Sage) brings thirty plus years of comparative religion, comparative cultural analysis, mentalism, depth psychology, sociology, folklore, and pattern recognition. Kacie is a certified researcher with a master's in Integrative Health Care Sciences from ACHS and a BA in Health and Wellness. At the 2024 Open Massage Championship Oregon she took gold in Wellness Massage, bronze in Sports, and bronze Overall.
Together they cover what most practices keep separate: licensed clinical bodywork and serious comparative-religion depth in the same room. The About page has the full picture.
-
What is your philosophy?
We are omnist: respect for many sincere paths without being chained to one label. We care about plain seeing and results you can feel, not dogma, inherited belief, or one-size-fits-all programs. We work alongside licensed clinical and medical professionals, never in place of them.
-
What if I am not religious or spiritual?
Most of our clients are not. The work does not require you to believe in anything in particular. The 9-Self framework, SRP counseling, bodywork, and the comparative-religion lens function as practical instruments for naming patterns and producing leverage in real situations.
-
Are you licensed or accredited?
Kacie holds an active Oregon massage therapy license and a master's in Integrative Health Care Sciences from ACHS. Her bodywork is formally licensed and nationally recognized. Scott's background spans mentalism, depth psychology, comparative religion, and comparative cultural analysis, built over thirty plus years of personal study, not weekend certificates. Lost in the Astral as a practice is not a licensed clinical or medical entity. We are complementary to professional care; we do not replace it.

Services
-
What exactly do you do?
Three paths. The Personal Path is licensed bodywork with Kacie, SRP Pastoral Counseling with either of us, and the AI-led 9-Self Holistic Integrated Coaching platform. The Business Path is hands-on help for businesses that are failing, stuck, or broken. The Events Path is ceremonies (weddings, handfastings, baptisms, burials) and gatherings.
-
What is the 9-Self framework?
Nine areas of a life mapped together: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Energetic, Mystical, Social, Ecological, Environmental. Not a wellness score. It reads where you actually are and shows how the areas draining you connect to the ones you have been trying to fix.
The 9-Self assessment is online. Once it is complete, the platform opens for you and runs the work with you between sessions.
-
What is SRP Pastoral Counseling?
Spiritual, religious, and philosophical pastoral counseling. Omnist in practice, never chained to a single denomination. Honest conversation aimed at what keeps driving your choices, your relationships, and who you think you are. Pastoral by definition, not mental-health therapy. Book with either Scott or Kacie.
-
How is the coaching platform different from a generic AI chatbot?
Generic chatbots predict the next word. Our platform calculates a real birth chart from astronomical ephemeris data, runs you through the structured 9-Self framework, and applies practitioner-encoded knowledge built from decades of comparative work and from actual sessions. The underlying data is real, not invented. The platform remembers your map between sessions so reads stack instead of resetting. The boundaries are enforced structurally.
III.
How it runs
-
What happens in my first session?
The same three-step shape for every service. Intake first: an online form (or the full 9-Self assessment for platform clients). Service set up next: we scope the work and schedule it. Service start third: the actual session runs in its room, online or in person depending on the path.
You leave with one specific thing to notice, interrupt, or test in the weeks that follow.
-
Do you work with clients outside Oregon?
Yes. Most of the work runs online by design. SRP counseling and 9-Self platform work happen by video for clients across the US and internationally. The only services that require in-person presence are licensed bodywork with Kacie and ceremony officiation that asks for our physical attendance.
-
Will you tell me what I want to hear?
No. The whole point of working with us is that we say what is actually showing up, including the parts that are harder to receive. Comfortable verdicts are easy to find on the internet. Honest does not mean harsh, and direct does not mean brutal. The honesty serves the work; it is not delivered for its own sake.
-
Can I bring a partner or family member?
For most personal sessions, no. The work depends on you being able to say what you would not say with someone else in the room. Exceptions: couples or family work where the structural question requires both people present, prep meetings for an event we are officiating, or a support person whose presence is genuinely needed.

Booking and logistics
-
How do I book?
Use Book a session from any page. If you already work with us, sign in to the Client Portal to manage your appointments.
-
What does a session cost?
Rates vary by service and length. Current pricing is in the booking system, including any DIY or Assisted tier pricing for the 9-Self platform. Business and Events paths anchor at a $200 consultation; per-engagement quotes follow.
-
What is the cancellation policy?
To reschedule or cancel, use the link in your confirmation email. The specific notice window is spelled out there. If something urgent comes up, tell us plainly. We are not running a penalty machine.
-
What happens to my personal data?
What you share in session is confidential. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing. Session notes are for our internal continuity. Full details on the Privacy page.

Guardrails
-
Is this clinical or medical?
No, with the exception of Kacie's licensed bodywork. We do not provide licensed therapy, psychiatry, or medical treatment. SRP Pastoral Counseling is pastoral by definition. Our services are complementary. If you are in crisis, contact a licensed provider or call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
-
Is there anything you will not do?
Yes, and we say so plainly when it comes up. We will not perform work that belongs to a living tradition we have not earned a place in; we refer to a practitioner who is properly seated. We will not provide licensed clinical therapy, psychiatry, or medical treatment. We will not flatter you into a return visit. We will not invent a result that is not real.
Clarity
This page exists so you can get your bearings before you commit.
If you want the plain version first, start here. If you already know enough, you do not need to keep circling the door. Book the session. We will pick it up in the room.
